About Me

I am a happily married mother of a rambunctious 9 year old boy.  I have worked since I was 16 and have always prided myself on my ability to be self sufficient.  The jobs I have had over the years has been an odd assortment of things, usually done just because someone said that a girl couldn’t do that job.  I’m not sure where the idea that I had to prove them all wrong came from, but it stuck with me  for a long time.  These jobs have included working at a power plant, a transmission shop (chasing parts and fixing cars), a gas station (pumping gas and fixing tires), a dump truck driver, a pool cleaner and a landscaper to name a few (you get the idea).  I’m sure the fact that most jobs that men hold pay more than the typical office job had something to do with it and I always managed to prove to myself that I could do anything I put my mind to.   It also helped that from an early age,  I learned how  to do the bookkeeping part of these various companies.  We now own and operate a successful Masonry contractingbusiness that has been doing business for approximately 18 years.  My part of which has always been the books, hasn’t ever been a full time job, so I worked various other places along the way.  When my son was born, I took the first 5 years off to stay at home with him.  Having always worked, I had no idea how staying home would affect me or how closely my identity was tied into the jobs that I held.  When he turned 5, I didn’t really feel that I was qualified for much of any job, but managed to fall into a job at a granite yard (I was paying my bill at the time) that fit in with a lot of my knowledge and that I was actually good at.  What a boost to the ole ego (much needed I might add!).    I ended up working more hours than I ever wanted which left very little time for my family. I lasted 3 years before I had had enough.  So here I am, embarking on yet another career.  One that hopefully will leave enough time for everyone.  I hope you will join me on this journey into the Internet and learning to make a living online.  Hopefully we will all learn alot about how this all works, have a few laughs,  and maybe evenlearn how to  make some money along the way.
